  1. Paparazzi Game – students work in small groups to take photos of specific objects, people, scenes in your classroom and around the school. They post their photos in a Google Slide deck or simply upload to a unique drive folder. Make it specific to your subject area if you want. Require students to dress up or act certain things out. Set challenges that require them to talk to each other and ask around.

  4. Fire exits
  5. Virtual Brown Bag with autodraw.com – Ss create a virtual brown bag with images of 5 things that are important to them. Each student puts their 5 images on a different google drawing which the the teacher distributes randomly. Students describe their images to the class and everyone discusses or votes who they think the bag belongs to

  10. A minute to win it
  11. Team building challenges
  12. Boomwriter – Read, write, vote, repeat. Students read the first chapter of story, then write what they think should happen next. Then the student chapters are peer assessed and voted upon. A winner is chosen, which becomes the next official chapter of the story. The process starts again.
  13. Classroom graphs.
  14. Review/create graphs while learning about everyone in the classroom
  15. Trivia with Baamboozle – why baamboozle? Gets kids talking face-to-face, although any of the game platforms would be great.

  17. Guess the location with randomstreetview.com
  18. Dream catcher introductions: make a dream catcher with your interest.… have students visit each dream catcher and out their names next to similar interests
  19. Humans of New York story writing – Humans of New York began as a photography project in 2010. The initial goal was to photograph 10,000 New Yorkers on the street, and create an exhaustive catalogue of the city’s inhabitants. Show student groups a different random photo. They work together to create a brief story based on the photo. Read aloud afterwards if time permits.
